Program
Saturday's Child Enrichment
Program is designed to take small groups of Middle School
age students grades 6-8 on a highly personalized literacy
odyssey. It is generally recognized that a wide variety
of experiences exposes us to new words and expressions
that bring greater meaning to the materials we read.
Outings are selected to engage
the senses of sight, hearing, touch and occasionally
taste. Group comradery is developed. Ideas are exchanged
and tolerance of differing viewpoints is encouraged.
Participants gain a heightened sense of possibilities.
We strive to strike a balance between meaningful exposure
to Black culture and familiarity with the dominant and
global cultures.
The bottom line is "Fun
with a Purpose".
Programs cover four consecutive
Saturdays. Each session runs 3-4 hours.
Founder/Director Marcia Cole

involvement into a program that involves both. She feel
strongly that every day is an opportunity to leam. She
has mined the DC Metropolitan area that is rich in museums
art galleries, scientific and cultural institutions,
